My name is Cristina Moger, I am 26 years old, and I have been around VSM for a little over a year and a half. I grew up knowing about God and called myself a Christian, but I was still living like the world. I wanted to really know Him and have a genuine relationship with Him, but I didn’t know how to do that on my own. My first connection to VSM actually began with meeting someone on an airplane. I tried to find this person on social media and thought I had found them, but it turned out not to be the same person. Instead, I came across one of the VSM staff members on social media. Through that, I learned more about the ministry and saw the amazing things God was doing in the lives of those involved and through VSM.I was in awe. I could so clearly see how set apart this ministry was and the amazing things God was doing through it.
I was eventually invited to The Hub and connected with another staff member. We met for coffee, which ended up turning into an entire day together! Before long, I was making the 45-minute drive to Brunswick a couple of times a week just to be around the ministry and learn more. I’d love to share the full story with you sometime!
When I first came around VSM, I could tell there was something different. The people were different. They really knew God. I wanted to understand what it looked like to truly follow Jesus. Even just coming around, I was already learning so much through the ministry and Doug’s teaching.
In March 2026, I had the opportunity to be part of the School of Foundations and Identity (SOFI), our 3 month discipleship program. It was such a beautiful season of growth and learning. It gave me the opportunity to grow deeper in my understanding of God, learn more about my identity in Christ, and build a stronger foundation in my faith. After SOFI, I continued with the summer internship, where I got to be involved in different areas of the ministry, including summer camps, outreach, and events at The Hub. This gave me the opportunity to serve alongside the team and gain experience in different aspects of ministry. After completing the internship, I joined VSM as full-time staff in Brunswick, GA.
